SMART Zambia Institute and TradeMark Africa have initiated a strategic partnership to modernise Zambia’s border management systems and enhance regional trade through digital transformation. During discussions held in Lusaka on 15 June, officials from both organisations explored the deployment of digital technologies to improve border efficiency, streamline cross-border trade processes, and strengthen connectivity along key trade corridors.

The collaboration brings together SMART Zambia’s expertise in e-government and TradeMark Africa’s experience in trade facilitation and logistics reform. The partnership is expected to reduce trade bottlenecks, improve the movement of goods and services, and support Zambia’s broader digital transformation agenda. It also lays the foundation for a long-term framework aimed at strengthening regional integration, boosting trade competitiveness, and driving economic growth.
