The ECOWAS Commission held a four-day capacity-building training on the African Regional Integration Synthesized Index (ASRII) Digital Platform from 4–7 August 2026 in Abuja. The training, organised as part of the African Union’s initiative to improve the monitoring and reporting of regional integration, brought together representatives from various ECOWAS Directorates and Departments.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ capacity to collect, validate and manage regional integration data using the ASRII Digital Platform. Participants received practical training on data collection, quality assurance, dashboard navigation, data visualisation, report generation and digital reporting.
The ASRII provides a harmonised framework for measuring regional integration across four pillars: Political Integration, Economic Integration, Infrastructure Integration, and Human and Social Integration. The digital platform is designed to replace fragmented manual processes with a more efficient, transparent and integrated system for data submission, validation, analysis and reporting.
The initiative reinforces ECOWAS’s commitment to regional cooperation, institutional capacity-building and digital innovation, in line with Agenda 2063 and ECOWAS Vision 2050.
